What we offer:
A Neurodivergent Art/Play and Social Group Saturday, December 14 2pm - 3pm Ages 5-7 $40 The Art Hive is an encouraging space that provides neurodivergent kids the freedom to be themselves while exploring different sensory and art-making experiences. Children will have the ability to work at their comfort level: whether that is independently or with peers. For the first part of class, the children will experience different sensory materials and play stations that coincide with the week’s theme. From there, we’ll have a brief class meeting and the children will be introduced to new materials and open-ended projects each week. They are then welcome to explore the art materials in their own way and speed. We’ll have several space arrangements available to encourage both group and individual seating. Parents and caregivers are welcome to accompany their children and support as necessary, but when in doubt, follow our teacher’s cues. As parents of neurodivergent children, our educators, Marcella and Kate have understood the needs for more creative activity spaces for neurodivergent children and for caregivers to make connections and feel supported in a non judgemental space. We hope The Art Hive can begin to help build that community in Mt. Lebanon. We believe that Art must always be accessible for everyone of all backgrounds and economic situations. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to us! We can find a way to make this possible.
