Portrait Mode Adults 18+ Fridays 4/4. 4/11, then 4/25 - 5/30 7pm - 8:45pm 8 Sessions $325 In this class, you’ll learn how to create beautiful portrait paintings from preliminary sketch to final image. We’ll show you some of the 'tried and true' methods of creating a portrait : analyze the proportions of the human head, use these 'rules' to construct the head and neck in profile, 3/4 view, or front-view, a bit about anatomy, and expression. We'll take a look at some famous portrait painters throughout the ages, and see how they use color and brushwork, the illusion of light and shadow, and background/setting to create expression and mood. We'll use a variety of materials: acrylic paint, watercolor, paint pens and oil pastels on paper and canvas with references to explore their wide range of unique styles.
