Drawing with Printmaking Adults, 18+ 4/3, 4/10, then 4/24 - 5/29 7pm - 8:45pm 8 Sessions $325 Please note: Our Studio will be closed for Spring Break for adult programming 4/13 - 4/21. In this 8 week intensive course, adult students will explore a variety of printmaking techniques and methods of making multiples, one-of-a-kind prints, and surface design. Drawing skill integrates seamlessly with the printmaking process, however you need not have the skills of a Renaissance Artisan to make wonderful and unique work! Tracing and transferring techniques can be extremely effective tools in printmaking to capture a solid composition. Get a feel for experimenting with methods of printmaking that can be used to design greeting cards, stationary, original artworks, gifts, wearables, etc. We will teach you how to use an etching printing press, baren tools, spoon-burnishing techniques, and other methods for accessible printmaking. We’ll explore "Gelli Plate" Printmaking, Collagraph, Lino Cut, Monotype, and Blotted Ink printmaking, just to name a few. Since printmaking can be quite time-consuming, needing multiple iterations, proofing, and adjusting plate-technicalities to perfect your print, we may need to spend two classes on a few of these methods. Please note the extended time (105min) for each class, this should give ample time for making several works without having to rush. The cost of this course includes a materials fee which includes all ink, papers, equipment, and materials. Please bring your own smock or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. We will use mostly washable inks, but for some projects we must use acrylic paint, gesso, or oil based portland black intaglio ink, which are not washable. No previous experience necessary, our classes are held in a fun and casual learning environment. Taught by Brooke Ebeling and Branden Koch
