(Camp 2) Kawaii Characters I / June 16 - 20 / AM (Ages 9-12) 9am-12pm Unleash your inner Cute Creator! In this camp, we will learn the art of creating adorable and charming Kawaii characters through illustration and multi-media techniques. "Kawaii" is a Japanese art style phenomenon that emphasizes cuteness by depicting characters with large eyes, simple features, rounded shapes, and bright colors: essentially, a way of drawing things to look very cute, adorable, and child-like. Campers will develop their own whimsical kawaii character with distinct personalities and stories and learn the techniques of kawaii aesthetics such as large eyes, soft colors, and exaggerated features. We’ll create illustrations, as well as stickers, polymer clay figures, and a stuffie based on each camper's character designs.
